The Spirit of Nature by John Dromgoole

Join John as he takes us on an adventure into the ancient spirit of nature, specifically trees from all cultures and the importance of their sustainability. He will then take us on a journey through time exploring the history of organic gardening. John Dromgoole has been Austin’s iconic organic-gardening guru and radio personality for the last 30-odd years. His business, The Natural Gardener—located in Oak Hill on Old Bee Caves Road—continues to grow steadily, and people from all over Texas and points beyond frequently seek him out for advice on everything from growing a healthy tomato to choosing quality gardening tools.

Science + Nature + Kids = Curiosity

Let's face it, kids are born on a quest to figure out the world. This desire to understand is at the heart of all scientific exploration. Kids who ask, “Why are the leaves falling off the trees? How does a butterfly fit in that tiny cocoon? Where does the water in Barton Springs Pool come from?” – are wondering about transformation and change. “What’s hair for? What makes things stick together? How do birds and airplanes fly?” are questions about form and function. Kids have a sense of these big ideas and want to know more.

Join us for a fun-filled hour as we create a CLIMATE OF CURIOSITY with lots of inspiring and funny videos that will leave you wanting to know more about science and the world around us. Learn about local organizations committed to fostering a love of life-learning and discovery and resources you can access at home.
